The lecture summary
Getting to the end of a sixty-slide PDF with nothing in your hands is what happens when you study alone. The summary is that page: what the lecture says, sorted by topic, at a length you actually read.
When it gets built
It builds itself as soon as Filmina has finished reading the slides, when you upload the deck, from what each one says. You do not need to have studied it: while the slides are being read, the card on the document page says how far it has got, and the summary shows up there as soon as it is ready.
After that it fills in with what happens in the lecture: what Mina explains about each slide, the material you added and your notes, transcripts included. When any of that changes, the summary is touched up rather than rebuilt, and in the meantime you keep seeing the previous one.
By topic, not by slide
A slide number is not an index of anything; topics are. So the summary gathers what each slide holds and sorts it by topic. It has to draw on every slide, and the model is not taken at its word on that: it gets counted, any slide left out is asked for again, and if it is still missing it goes into the topic of the nearest one. Slides with no text, like a photo without words, are not required.
If you use class notes, the summary reads them too, as long as they have Use when explaining on. And changing a note does not rebuild it from scratch: it reads what is new and adds whatever it contributes.
Reading it or listening to it
It lives on the document page, above the notes, and opens to the side like a note you cannot edit. The card tells you how many topics it has and how long it takes to read.
With Listen, Mina reads it topic by topic in the voice you listened to the lecture with, and each word lights up as it is spoken. Tapping a heading starts that topic, and tapping a line jumps to its first word.
With Copy it comes out as text, ready to paste into Notion or your notebook. And if you select a piece of it, Ask takes it to Mina as a quote.
The mind map
From the summary, Mind map opens the same topics as a tree, full screen: the lecture at the root, one topic per branch, and each idea with a short label and its key words. Branches open and close one at a time or all together, you can zoom in and out, and tapping an idea shows the full sentence.
It is built the first time you open it and then kept. If the summary's topics change, it is built again.
